- We offer quality frame tents – which means no center poles or anchoring ropes!
- Set up can be done on a variety of surfaces: grass, gravel, cement, or dirt
- If stakes are needed and cannot be used due to being placed on cement or gravel or an irrigation system is in place, we have a unique water barrel system that can be used instead. Holes don’t need to be drilled into the ground or ropes placed causing a tripping hazard.
- Tents are usually set up the evening before the event and taken down the morning after. This can be adjusted and can change depending on weather. We finalize these times a week before the event with you.

From the Ground Up
Upper Tent Rental started from a college project put together by Michael Papes. The business ended up being more successful in our area then what was intended of it. After a few years, Michael’s parents bought the business from him. Until this point Michael ran and managed the business. His parents and siblings, especially his younger brother Justin, helped with set ups and take downs when Mike needed them. Close friends would help out as well for larger events. Mike’s parents, David and Lynda, took over management and scheduling. Mike and Justin did majority if not all of the set up and take downs with help from their parents, siblings and close friends throughout the next several years. The business grew exponentially, from graduation parties, to weddings, to beer festivals. For the last couple of years there has been talk of Mike and Justin taking the business back over and at the end of the 2019 season they bought the business back together. You can guarantee that your event is in the best hands with over ten years of experience using these tents and working with the local community!
Michael and Justin take great pride in this business but also have full time careers as well within our community. Michael is the Plant Manager for Cal Chlor in Ludington. He is married to Sarah who runs Sarah Papes Photography and has three boys: Gavin, Carson, and Tucker. Justin is an Agent with Smith and Eddy Insurance and works primarily out of Scottville. He is married to Kerri who is a Registered Dental Hygienist working at MCDC in Hart and also manages Upper Tent Rental’s bookings and scheduling. They have a son, Greyson. Summers are busy for them working full time, managing their careers, spending time with family and making sure they are taking care of your event needs!
